I know it's been a while

But I just haven't felt like blogging lately.

I apparently can't sleep through rainstorms any more.

Foo to the Fighters

Foo Fighters concert was on Monday. Not the best I've seen, but definitely top 3. With the exception of "Hey, Johnny Park", they played every song that I'd like to have heard. Dave Grohl is probably one of the most entertaining and talented frontmen in music today, and you know what- I'd say he's been that way since the Foo Fighters released their first album. The rest of the band of course is fabulous too. Fun to watch, great musicians, great stage presence, great performers. I was definitely glad to have gone to that show.

This was what I remember the set to be, to the best of my abilities:

In Your Honor
All My Life
My Hero
Times Like These
Best of You

Then it kinda is a blur but they played:

Learn to Fly
Everlong (acousticish)
Stacked Actors
This is a Call
Up in Arms
Monkey Wrench
Tired of You
The One

Great show folks, great show.

I don't understand Viriginians sometimes

Here's a story from the BBC, where a man with learning disabilities has been deemed "intelligent enough to be executed".

I read Ender's Game over the last 3 nights, for what was probably the 5th or 6th time in the past year. I've said it before, I'll say it again, but never has a story moved me like that, made me feel for the characters like that, made me attached to those characters.

Everyone should read it at least once.

Weekend Update

Alright, so I've been a slacker the last couple weeks, so here's what's new.

The contract at work was not ratified, so I'll still be working Monday daytime, Tuesday off, Wednesday and Thursday nighttime and Friday daytime. Weekends are a tossup.

On Friday I was walking up to the bus stop on the way to work, and this little girl stopped me and asked me how to get to Mac's and if I could walk with her down there. She apparently just moved here from Winnipeg because her dad's in the TV business, hates his job and wants to move back to London (England, not Ontario). I told her I couldn't walk her down there because I had to work and she was all "whoa! you work! that's cool, how old are you?" So I told her how old I was and she told me I looked like a teenager. So I gave her directions to Mac's she sorta walked me to the bus stop area and then went down there- I hope she didn't get lost. I ended up being late for work but I really didn't care.

One of my friends had her baby on Saturday, and my ex thought it would be great to send out a text message at 8 in the morning yesterday telling everyone. It was definitely something that could have waited.

I found out from my grandmother yesterday that my cousin Leah is apparently pregnant. I'll have to yell at her for not calling me and telling me herself.

I got a new nape piercing last week, and so far it's doing much better than the last one. I'm not sure if I posted about this yet, but if I did, then you guys are finding out again.
